Shieldbank Coffee Shop
Come along and enjoy a hot or cold drink at our new coffee shop.
You don’t have to ride, or even be interested in horses, everyone is welcome. Throughout the year we are running regular events for all tastes, from Theme Night meals, where you can try food from a different country, to folk nights, to dog training.
You can join the craft group and try your hand at a new activity, or enjoy a musical evening.
From Shieldbank there are a series of walks possible, either guided or non-guided; some suitable for dogs, other, gentler walks for children or people who prefer a less strenuous amble. The variety of wildlife and scenery make all the walks interesting for photographers of all standards.
The nicest thing about Shieldbank Coffee Shop is the atmosphere. When you arrive you are greeted by Monty our Labrador, he will escort you in and hand you over to a human. After this he will go and greet his next guest. Once you are seated, ordered and have the time to relax, you will discover Glen! Glen is a horse whose stable has a window into the coffee shop. He is a great talking point.
We have designed the room in such a way that it is possible to watch television, read or work on your laptop using the free WiFi, hold a private conversation, or join in with a general conversation with other guests. There can be some really great discussions going on all round the room, with complete strangers becoming friends before they leave. Babies get handed round to be admired by young mums, local ladies come to have a good natter and enjoy our freshly baked scones with homemade jam. People even bring their dogs to have a romp in the field with Monty.
We are open six days (Tuesdays to Sundays) from 9.30am to 6.00pm and till 9.00pm on a Wednesday and Friday.
We serve hot and cold food all day.
Children’s Birthday Parties, with or without riding can be booked all year.
